MAKE THE MOST OF LONDON THIS AUGUST

Summer is here and as the season ripens August will bloom with a burst of colour, fun and plenty to keep your attention away from the usually disappointing and sporadic British Summer weather. There’s never a better time to experience London than in the height of summer, with beautiful canal side rambles, outdoor summer events and a plethora of parks to keep you entertained, you’ll never want to hole up in your London Hotel Suites, however comfortable they may be. Below are just a few of the amazing events and sites which you can visit during your stay, catering to all tastes and giving you a glimpse into the many different areas of the city.

London Craft Beer Festival

Now moving into a larger location, the London Craft Beer Festival celebrates the cities love for independent breweries. With a whole host of different beers and ales on tap from a flood of breweries. Head down to the Shoreditch Electric Light Station on August 4th till the 6th to find some of the best London has to offer alongside many delectable food stalls to line your stomach. The breweries on offer include the famous Brew Dog, Gipsy Hill, Beavertown, Stone and Wood and Thornbridge Brewery.

Holi Festival of Colours

The Hindu Spring Festival of Love has a late blooming this Summer as the inspiration for the Holi Festival of Colours in Wembley Park. This year sees the festival throw a “feel the jungle” themed party, which means a pounding body moving mix of EDM, dance and heavy bass music. If you’re looking for a fun day out, lots of powder paint and an excuse to revive a millennia old religion into a feel good and all-inclusive bonanza, then check July 29th is the date to put in your diary.

Notting Hill Carnival

On the last weekend, and bank holiday weekend of August, Notting Hill Carnivals world famous mix of multicultural parades and beautiful dance music is exactly what every music lover needs. The festival takes palce around the Notting Hill area and attracts party goers from not only around the city but around the country. As a celebration of multiculturalism, expect a heady mix of music styles and Sound system’s cropping up all over the W10 area of London.

Intoxicating Sensory Soiree

After hours this August, you can find the Chelsea Physic Garden being transformed into a magical sensory experience which was designed by head gardener Nick Bailey who will be able to guide visitors around to the scented displays. Although this is not one for those with Hay fever, the scents on display will include an English Perfume House inspired exhibit as well as the delicious Rococo Chocolates whose flavours will be seen at the onsite café which itself has a scent inspired café menu.

The Summer Shindig at Hornsey Town Hall

With the one of a kind Hornsey Town Hall playing host to a dance weekend on August 19th and 20th, you can be sure to get your groove on to The Correspondents electro swing alongside Charlotte Hatherley and a shed load of Pimms on tap.
